Fund Summary
The heart of the Internet can be found in new ideas created by young people. In other words, the activities of young entrepreneurs in the Internet economy will breathe new life into the Japanese and Asian economies and lead to further growth and prosperity. Together, Aeria, Inc. and ngi group, inc. have started the Student Entrepreneur Support Project, in hopes of supporting the great numbers of young entrepreneurs who will contribute to the revitalization of the Asian economy.
The companies have established The Student Entrepreneur Fund to proactively provide support for current and past (less than 3 years post graduation) undergraduate, graduate, and exchange students, as well as university professors and associate professors who wish to start their own companies.
Aeria, Inc., and ngi group, inc., will help ambitious entrepreneurs succeed in realizing their business dreams by using our know-how in incubating companies, our experiences in Internet businesses, and our strengths in technical development. Our contribution is not limited to providing startup and operating capital. We will use seminars and the like to discover, develop, and provide guidance to young entrepreneurs.
Student Support Scheme
Eligibility
Our investments will focus on companies started by current and past (graduated within the last 3 years) undergraduate, graduate, professors, associate professors, researchers, etc. We will also consider investing capital to seed companies based on outstanding business plans.
Investment Stance
We will invest approximately 10 million JPY each in a wide variety of venture companies involved in the Internet, technology, services, etc. We will make investment decisions through examination of the business plan and relation to the market, the current condition of the business, and the new entrepreneur’s zeal and enthusiasm.
What the Fund Can Offer
This project has established a professional venture capital fund to invest in young student entrepreneurs. One of the largest issues in starting and growing a business is finding seed and operating capital. The fund supports young entrepreneurs by providing this important capital.
Management Support
Aeria and ngi group will help the portfolio companies succeed by providing management, technology, and financial support based on our incubation know-how, and our experiences in Internet information and technology development.
Seminars and Advisory
A student entrepreneur seminar will be carried out two to four times a year.
A forum will be provided for young entrepreneurs to learn the significance of the challenge, the trials an tribulations, and the paths to success from the stories and examples directly from other successful entrepreneurs.
Consultants, venture capitalists, and other professionals will provide advice to students who are considering to start their businesses.
